Four important lessons that we learn from Lao Tzu

Take a chance, make the first move

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”
Nobody knows what is going to happen tomorrow. Every new relationship and initiative involve with specific risk factors. However, you may still agree that it’s impossible to succeed unless you make the first move, take some responsibility, accept challenges and act more boldly. All our steps are a priceless experience through which we grow, develop and move forward. If so, don’t be afraid to take a chance, make the first move and start “the journey”!

Be Helpful, but be wise in doing it!

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”
You may sincerily want to do your beloved ones, children, friends, family members a service, in other words to help them, but all you actually do to them is a disservice. And if you face the reality you will find it hard to do it all the time. Ask yourself whether your methods really work; what will happen if they face the same problems again in future?

Don’t be dependent on others

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner”
Everyone has their unique opinion. Their lives do not concern us, as well as our lives do not concern them. Don’t waste your precious time worrying about what other people think about you. Listen to your heart, conscience and mind only, don’t steer away from your moral principles and soon you will discover that you don’t care about what other people think because you are free.

Be grateful!

“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
Think about it: is there a man who will exchange everything he has for everything he hasn’t? Gratefulness is a great positive power that can change every single day for the better.
